Treatment algorithm for glucose control in type 2 diabetes

International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet has released a revision of its treatment algorithm for glucose control in type 2 diabetes. The algorithm is a clinical pathway or “road map” that helps doctors select the best course of action to optimize glucose control in their patients with type 2 diabetes. It is based on clinical research combined with expert opinion, and clearly diagrams treatment options, timelines and steps to take, given the patient’s blood glucose levels and medication use.
