Research capabilities
International Diabetes Center is recognized worldwide for quality diabetes research. As a World Health Organization Collaborating Center and the only nonuniversity study site in the landmark Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT), International Diabetes Center is firmly established as a diabetes center of excellence.
We are involved in many worldwide studies, such as the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) and Diabetes Reduction Assessment with Ramipril and Rosiglitazone Medication (DREAM) trial.
International Diabetes Center strives to stay on the frontlines of research. Through our collaborations with the National Institutes of Health and major pharmaceutical companies, we have gained direct clinical experience with nearly every diabetes medication and product on the market or in development today.
International Diabetes Center provides a patient-focused environment, providing supplies, tests and clinical visits necessary for clinical research at no charge to the patient for most studies. We provide patient care during research studies, but recommend that patients continue to see their primary care doctors and provide updates to primary care doctors during the studies.
