Noninsulin injectable therapy

A new treatment option now is available to people with type 2 diabetes who are not able to obtain blood glucose control with metformin or sulfonylurea.

Exenatide, a noninsulin injectable therapy, may improve blood glucose control following meals. Exenatide has been shown in research studies to reduce appetite, resulting in modest weight loss in most patients.
