Emotional health

We believe treating the UNDERLYING ISSUES that influence eating disorders is key to recovery.

Shame, anxiety, depression, loss of identity and self-denial all influence eating disorder behaviors. They also can make people vulnerable to eating disorders in the first place. We provide a safe environment to begin healing. Patients are accepted for who they are and where they are in the recovery process.

Our team uses three, evidence-based approaches to emotional health, all of which help develop healthy response skills. We work together with patients, families and our multidisciplinary care team to solidify these skills in all treatment levels, and in individual and group settings. Skills include changing thought patterns, improving self-esteem and self-acceptance, and working to gain a more balanced life. Patients are empowered to set and reach their own goals, and to create recovery plans that work for them.

Our ultimate goal is for patients to find purpose, balance and meaning in life – free from eating disorders.
