Treatment model
The Melrose Institute treatment model revolutionizes eating disorder treatment by personalizing care in a unique way – through individual choice. Choice and self-determination is critical to motivation, and allows our patients – with proper guidance – to move ahead with recovery in a very new way. The treatment model emulates a university curriculum, which adds an academic element so familiar to many of these individuals.

Our Melrose Institute treatment model offers three core treatment areas that are essential to every patient’s recovery: medical care, nutrition and emotional health.
In addition to one-on-one appointments with the care team, patients may choose several options for group treatment. Some of these are part of the core treatment for every patient, others are electives that are customized for specific topics and care needs.
The option for patients to choose certain aspects of their treatment empowers them to set the tone and pace of their recovery.
