Health-risk assessment
A health-risk assessment (HRA) is a cornerstone for successful worksite health promotion programs and serves both the employee and the employer. By completing an HRA questionnaire, employees receive information on current lifestyle behaviors that impact health and readiness to change. Employees benefit from an HRA because it:
-
provides an overview of their lifestyle habits
-
identifies areas that increase health risk
-
motivates them to begin taking action
Employers find HRAs valuable because they:
-
provide a baseline and ongoing measurement of behavior change and program impact
-
identify high-risk areas
-
facilitate annual program planning
We provide online and paper versions of the HRA, and encourage companies to combine this with health screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose, to maximize impact.
