Chicken Pox

Chicken pox is a very contagious viral disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every year approximately 5000 to 9000 hospitalizations and 100 deaths in the United States result from chicken pox. Normally a mild disease of childhood (it affects 4 million U.S. children each year), chicken pox may be severe in infants, adults, and people with impaired immune systems.

Normal chicken pox symptoms, including rash, fever, and itching Symptoms can usually be treated at home. If symptoms persist, you should call your doctor for advice.
