Encephalitis

Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain. There are many different types of encephalitis, though all are rare. Some cases are mild, short, and end with complete recovery. Other cases can be serious, resulting in permanent impairment or death. Most people recover from encephalitis. The infection is fatal in only a small percentage of people who get it.
