Anyone can get a rash, but babies and young children are particularly prone to them because their skin is still sensitive and they are likely to encounter bacteria and viruses as they begin to explore their world.

Itchy, red bumps around folds of the skin Symptoms can usually be treated at home. If symptoms persist, you should call your doctor for advice.
Rash around the diaper area  Symptoms can usually be treated at home. If symptoms persist, you should call your doctor for advice.
Rash with fever greater than 100°F  Symptoms may be treated at home or they may require a visit to your doctor. Usually you and your doctor need to share additional information about your condition to decide what is best for you.
Signs of infection in the area of the rash (increased redness and drainage) Symptoms need to be evaluated by a doctor. When you call to make an appointment, your doctor will help you determine how soon you need to be seen.
