Scabies

Scabies produces small, itchy bumps that are caused by tiny mites. The mites burrow into the skin, where the females lay eggs. Within about 5 days, the eggs hatch. Itching begins several weeks after the mites have started living in the skin. Like head lice, scabies is no longer thought to be a sign of poor hygiene.
