The “right way” to make love and the “right” number of times to have sex are simply what work best and are most satisfying for each couple. But anxiety and physical, emotional, or relationship issues can interfere with a person’s or couple’s ability to enjoy or participate fully in sex.

Erection, ejaculation, or orgasm problems Symptoms can usually be treated at home. If symptoms persist, you should call your doctor for advice.
Sexual problems that continue or worsen despite self-care Symptoms may be treated at home or they may require a visit to your doctor. Usually you and your doctor need to share additional information about your condition to decide what is best for you.
Physical problem or medical condition (such as diabetes or heart disease) that may be causing sexual problems Symptoms need to be evaluated by a doctor. When you call to make an appointment, your doctor will help you determine how soon you need to be seen.
