Heart disease prevention
Understanding your risk is the first step in the prevention, early detection and treatment of heart disease. Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center offers several screening and prevention products and services that can help reduce your risk.
Controlling your risk of developing heart disease
Scientists continue to investigate the possible causes of coronary artery disease. Although there does not seem to be one specific cause, certain characteristics, called risk factors, have been linked to coronary artery disease.

Coronary heart disease screening program
Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center's screening program offers education and advanced screening opportunities for people concerned about their risk of heart disease. Patients gain a better understanding of the risks and how to prevent or minimize heart disease. Call 952-993-3246 to find out more.
Heart disease Prevention Clinic
Left undetected and untreated, coronary atherosclerosis, or coronary artery disease, is a progressive, relentless disease. For heart patients to live long and full lives, atherosclerosis must be slowed or ideally, stopped in its tracks.
Our Heart Disease Prevention Clinic uses a team approach to educate patients and their families about effective lifestyle management and to prescribe the best drug therapies.
Patients who have multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease or risk factors that have not responded to standard treatment can be referred by their primary care doctor or other health care provider. Call 952-993-3246 for more information.
Women's heart risk screening
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women. It also is a disease women have the power to prevent. We offer a 90-minute, personal heart risk screening with a women's heart professional. That way, women can learn their risk of developing heart disease and what steps they can take to keep their heart healthy.
A women's heart risk screening is $99 and is an out-of-pocket expense. It is not covered by insurance, but you may be able to use your health care savings account. Call 952-993-3246 today to schedule your screening. More information
Heart scan
A heart scan, or coronary artery calcium scoring, is a fast, painless screening test that assesses heart attack risk using the latest multislice computerized tomography (CT) imaging technology. Learn more about heart scans.
