Remembering Donnell Etzwiler, MD

Donnell D. Etzwiler, the founder and president emeritus of International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet and director emeritus of the Institute, died April 6 after a long battle with cancer. Throughout his long and distinguished career at International Diabetes Center, Etzwiler advocated a team approach to chronic disease management. He supported a model whereby patients, assisted by a team of physicians and health care professionals, are responsible for their own care - a model still used at International Diabetes Center and around the world today.
