Park Nicollet HealthSource provided fitness center services to more than 4,000 employee members at nine fitness centers at Medtronic, UAW-Ford Motor Company, Ceridian, United Defense, Target Distribution Center and Walser Automotive Group.
As part of the "Healthy Young Workers Project" with the Minnesota Partnership for Action Against Tobacco (MPAAT), HealthSource assisted in creating eight smoke-free worksites in Greater Minnesota in a variety of food processing and manufacturing organizations. HealthSource also received a $400,000 MPAAT grant to provide more than 100 cessation classes in Minnesota worksites over the next two years.
International Diabetes Center and HealthSource brought innovative management strategies for chronic disease into the workplace in 2003. By partnering with 3M, they piloted two worksite disease management projects involving screening, assessment, evaluation and education for employees who have diabetes.
