Recognition 

Each year, Park Nicollet Institute recognizes outstanding staff contributions through Researcher of the Year and Educator of the Year awards. The awards reflect the traditions established by our founders to devote time to research, advance patient care and support ongoing professional education.

Richard J. Sveum, MD, Researcher of the Year
For 18 years, Sveum has served as an asthma and allergy specialist at Park Nicollet and a member of the Asthma and Allergy Research Center. He was the principal investigator on five research studies in 2003, and is the lead investigator for the "Controlling Asthma in American Cities" project conducted through the American Lung Association.

Nancy J. Jarvis, MD, Educator of the Year 
Jarvis practiced in Park Nicollet's internal medicine department for more than 20 years. She currently is active in the Supporting Best Care department with projects in primary care, diabetes and heart disease, and is leading initiatives in visit planning and population management. Jarvis recently joined Park Nicollet's Integrated Medical Record team, supporting integration of clinic and hospital computer systems.
