Eating disorders and diabetes
Diabetes researchers estimate people who have type 1 diabetes (formerly "juvenile-onset diabetes") have twice the risk of developing an eating disorder. Eating disorders are serious medical conditions. When paired with diabetes, it can be a life-threatening combination.
Eating Disorders Institute is collaborating with International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet to treat people struggling with the dual diagnosis of an eating disorder and type 1 diabetes.
