Key safety highlights
Methodist Hospital participates in statewide safety and quality initiatives, including:
- Minnesota Hospital Association’s Patient Safety Registry, which allows Methodist Hospital to share safety resources and knowledge with hospitals across Minnesota
- Leapfrog Group surveys at www.leapfroggroup.org, which help Methodist Hospital monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvements
- StratisHealth®’s process improvement project for atrial fibrillation and heart failure patients
The hospital also continues to be recognized for quality and safety initiatives from leading health care industry groups.
- Winner of Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) Patient Safety Award, January 17, 2003
- Recipient of the first annual Patient Safety Award by Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS)
- Recipient of three awards from the American Medical Group (AMGA), March 2003
- Medical Pre-eminence Award for exceptional leadership, innovation, vision and contributions to the advancement of quality, effective health care delivery practices and structure
- High Risk Patient Management Award for “Creating a chronic disease model for patients with diabetes”
- Acclaim Award honoree for “Changing an organization to improve patient safety”
- Ranked “excellent” by the "Consumer's Checkbook Guide to Hospitals" in a June 20, 2002 study by a Washington consulting firm
