Patient safety
Safety is a top priority
Our hospital and health care professionals are committed to providing patients the best and safest care possible. We welcome patient feedback and encourage you and your family to take an active role in helping us meet your health care needs.
As a member of the Leapfrog Group, a coalition of more than 100 public and private health care organizations, our goal is to uphold high quality standards that ensure you receive reliable care. Several measures have been taken by Methodist Hospital to support this goal.
-
Processes are in place to report, evaluate and take necessary corrective actions that address safety concerns of staff, patients and family members.
-
All doctors and nurses at our hospital are board-licensed and participate in continuing education.
-
Medication safety is a primary focus and staff is expected to ensure you receive the right medication, and the right dose, with the right method at the right time.
-
We recommend patients invite a family member or friend to health care visits for comfort and support.
-
Patients are encouraged to ask questions and take notes at every point of care.
