Understand how to care for your baby and yourself. Ask your doctor or certified nurse-midwife any questions regarding care.

Complete your baby’s birth certificate and give it to your nurse to process. It is important to fill out this form accurately and completely before leaving the hospital.

 ___

Find out how to get a certified birth certificate from Hennepin County.

 ___

Have an infant car seat and be knowledgeable in its proper use.

 ___

Make sure your baby has a clean, safe place to sleep with sides to keep the baby from rolling onto the floor.

Purchase needed nursing and baby care supplies, many of which are available at Health & Care Store @ Park Nicollet

 ___

If desired, order photos of your baby through Growing Family. Photos also can be ordered online when you get home.


The Health & Care Store @ Park Nicollet and Breastfeeding Center @ Park Nicollet, Meadowbrook Building, on the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital campus, can provide a wide array of products to support your health, healing and learning. The Breastfeeding Center features helpful products for prepregnancy and postpregnancy, including support pillows and cushions, breast pumps, educational books, maternity bras and other breastfeeding products.
