Pregnancy and childbirth can cause a great deal of excitement and anxiety – especially for a new mom. It is the perfect time for a little pampering for mom, her partner and the entire family. Below are some hospital guidelines and resources to keep in mind.

Mail, gifts and flowers

Volunteers deliver letters and packages to patients’ rooms each morning. Mail received after moms and babies have been discharged is forwarded to their home address.

Fresh flowers are welcome and can be purchased at Meadows Gift Shop and Café, located on Methodist Hospital’s first floor, at the Dioyr 1-620 or call 952-993-5131 to order flowers over the phone. Other gifts include greeting cards, balloons, magazines and books, candy, plush toys and baby items, jewelry, sundries and a small selection of clothing.

Methodist Hospital is a latex-free environment. Please send only mylar balloons to Methodist Hospital patients. Balloons also are available in the Meadows Gift Shop and Café.

Meals can be purchased at the Meadows Gift Shop and Café, Methodist Hospital cafeteria, Coffee Express and the Muffin Man café. All offer a wide selection of food and beverages. More information on Amenities.

Gifts and local restaurants also can be found nearby. Knollwood Mall is located just west of the hospital on Highway 7 and features a variety of shops and restaurants. A wide range of restaurants, gift shops and entertainment venues (Miracle Mile, Grand at Excelsior) also can be found by traveling south from the hospital on Louisiana Avenue, then east on Excelsior Boulevard.
