I am writing in appreciation for a wonderful birthing experience at Methodist Hospital. This was not only my first child, but my first time in the hospital setting as a patient. I couldn’t have been more pleased with Jennifer Demma, certified nurse-midwife, and our evening nurse Tammy. I entered the hospital to be induced early in the day, but when evening advanced without a birth we decided to continue induction the next day – after a good night’s rest. Surprisingly, my labor continued and my son came fast and furious by 1 a.m. With Jennifer and Tammy’s support and guidance, my hope to give birth without drugs became possible. Jennifer gently took charge of the situation and went to great lengths to ensure my comfort with a foot massage and warm baths, and by encouraging a variety of positions. Tammy was very attentive to my progress and helped me stay the course through my unconventional labor. I just graduated from nursing school and saw firsthand how these two women make nursing a perfected craft. I am truly inspired and proud to someday enter the same field. I transferred from another local clinic, whose nurse-midwives departed, to the Park Nicollet system after 20 weeks gestation. Although I felt inconvenienced at first, little did I realize how happy I would be with your nurse-midwife services and my entire hospital experience. My husband and I now intend on continuing with Park Nicollet for any future children we may have. We can’t thank you enough for a healthy and happy birth.
