Infant care

Grandmother taking care of infant

When you and your baby go home from the hospital, spend time enjoying each other. Remember, this is a period of adjustment. You will begin to feel more comfortable as time goes by and will need time to get to know your baby’s unique personality.

Your baby will trust you from the very beginning if you respond to his or her cries, laughter and coos. Smiling, talking, singing, touching, cuddling and rocking are ways to stimulate your baby physically and emotionally. You cannot hold or play with your baby too much.

See links at the right for infant care topics.

For more information, consider taking a baby care class.
