Creative activities
You do not have to be an artist to be creative. Many activities and projects allow you to explore your creative nature, including:
-
gardening
-
cooking and baking
-
woodworking and building
-
photography
-
writing or keeping a journal
-
ceramics
-
playing a musical instrument or singing
-
sewing, knitting or other needlework
-
painting, drawing or working with clay
You may need to try new ways and methods for creative expression. Some people may never have tried these activities because of work and family demands, while others may find past activities too difficult due to challenges of Parkinson’s disease. Many activities can be adapted or modified. Seek help and advice from an occupational therapist to learn modifications for your favorite interests and activities if needed.
