Illness and hospitalization

Illnesses and hospitalization raise special concerns for people with Parkinson’s disease. Medical problems can cause your symptoms to temporarily worsen. Many medications interact with medications for Parkinson’s disease, and certain procedures may require you to be off your Parkinson’s medications for a short period. Ask your health care team about any questions you have.
