While often there are no symptoms of fibroids, some women do experience painful problems, including:
- abnormal bleeding, usually during menstruation, often with clot formation or anemia
- pain, pressure or heaviness in the pelvis, back, flank or legs
- pain during intercourse
- bladder pressure leading to a constant urge to urinate
- pressure on the bowel, which can lead to constipation and bloating
- severe menstrual cramping
- abnormally enlarged abdomen
