While often there are no symptoms of fibroids, some women do experience painful problems, including:
  • abnormal bleeding, usually during menstruation, often with clot formation or anemia
  • pain, pressure or heaviness in the pelvis, back, flank or legs
  • pain during intercourse
  • bladder pressure leading to a constant urge to urinate
  • pressure on the bowel, which can lead to constipation and bloating
  • severe menstrual cramping
  • abnormally enlarged abdomen
