Endoscopic brow lift surgery
Endoscopic brow lift surgery, or a forehead lift, uses an endoscope, which is a special viewing instrument that allows a surgeon to look at the body's internal structures with very small incisions.
Are you a candidate?
Best candidates are patients who have low lying eyebrows or brow ptosis (drooping).
Some risk is associated with any surgery. Follow your surgeon's advice before and after surgery to avoid the following:
-
temporary nerve damage, loss of feeling
During surgery
This is the most commonly performed procedure for which an endoscope is used. Puncture-type incisions are made in the hairline, instead of the ear-to-ear incision. Using an endoscope, a surgeon removes muscles that produce frown lines and repositions eyebrows at a higher, more natural level.
After surgery
Your surgeon will tell you what to expect after an endoscopic procedure. Many endoscopic procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia and sedation.
Recovery
Your surgeon will give you a timetable of when you will be back on your feet. Endoscopic surgery may provide the same results as open surgery, but with less scarring and recovery time.
