Research efforts include advancing our understanding of Parkinson’s disease and related conditions, developing new and improved treatments and identifying new areas of research.

To meet these goals, the center is involved in clinical research studies with pharmaceutical companies, federally sponsored research, collaborations with other Parkinson’s disease experts and locally designed studies. The center’s research director focuses on expanding the center’s involvement in clinical research, and functional and quality-of-life outcome studies.

For patients, participation in research ensures access to potentially effective therapies that otherwise are not available.
