Nutrition consultation

Jane Brattain Breast Center is committed to providing a comprehensive program in breast health, including nutrition recommendations and, when needed, individual nutrition counseling. Although it is unknown whether nutrition can affect breast cancer, most nutrition scientists agree it is important to adopt good habits early in life.

Outpatient nutrition consultation

Registered dietitians are available for one-hour, one-on-one nutrition visits through the outpatient nutrition service. To learn more about this service, call 952-993-3454. Nutrition visits often are covered by medical insurance. Check with your insurance plan to see if it covers nutrition consultations.

Advanced nutrition consultation

An advanced nutrition consultation is available to women who have concerns about nutrition as it affects breast health, breast cancer and breast cancer recurrence, and who require more detailed, specialized information about nutrition. The service particularly is useful to women who have had breast cancer in the past or are facing that challenge currently.

A nutrition research scientist with a PhD in nutrition, a registered dietitian and a licensed nutritionist perform the consultations, which often run longer than an hour depending upon client needs. A fee is charged for the service, which typically is not covered by insurance. To make an appointment, call 952-993-0057, or speak to a nurse specialist at the center.
