Initial assessment
The first step is to schedule an initial assessment by calling 952-993-6200.
Assessments typically take about two hours and include a medical assessment, lab work and psychological testing (for patients continuing at Melrose Institute).
Verify your mental health coverage for eating disorders treatment with your insurance company before your initial assessment. If you have insurance or patient financial services questions, call us at 952-993-7910.
At the end of the initial assessment, if treatment at Melrose Institute is recommended, you will:
-
be assigned a care team
-
connect with a care manager, who will be your main contact throughout treatment
-
receive a binder with core treatment information for patients
-
receive additional resources as needed
We applaud your courage in seeking help for an eating disorder, and hope we can aid you in this process. While eating disorders are serious, potentially life-threatening illnesses, there is hope. Help is available and recovery is possible.
Complete a self-assessment.
