‘No Shots, No School’

Community health commitment

Minnesota law requires immunizations, or written proof of exemption, for school-age children to attend school. Park Nicollet Foundation, through its Healthy Communities Initiative, is collaborating with 24 school districts to meet these requirements to have all children immunized. Park Nicollet Clinic, along with other providers, allows "enhanced access" for children needing immunizations as part of the No Shots, No School program. This program is available May, August and the first two weeks of September.

Participating school districts communicate the law to all parents in their district and encourage them to schedule appointments with a primary care doctor early to ensure required immunizations are given and documented well in advance of starting school. It takes at least four months to complete the Hepatitis B series.
