Expert billing services; help with understanding insurance benefits

Buying health care products – whether your insurance company sees them as medically necessary or not, can be complicated and confusing.

Insurance reimbursement

Medically necessary products, which typically require a doctor’s prescription, may be reimbursable, but may require a deductible and copay. Products reimbursed by insurance have to meet quality standards, must be constructed a certain way and often fall within contract price guidelines that differ from out-of-pocket cost. Our store staff can help you through the maze of questions you might have related to insurance reimbursed products.

  1. What specific products are considered medically necessary by my health insurance provider?
  2. What copays and deductibles apply?
  3. When should I call my insurance company and what are the questions I need to ask?
  4. How often will insurance reimburse me for replacement products, such as compression stockings?

Products typically not covered by insurance often are classified as "not medically necessary," which does not mean they aren’t essential. Nonreimbursable products may relieve pain, provide image enhancement, offer information or add to your comfort and convenience, which your doctor feels is important, but insurance does not cover.

Billing expertise

Typically, bills are submitted to your health insurance provider within 48 hours of your product purchase, but our staff offers you additional assurances.

Accuracy According to Medica, Park Nicollet bills products right the first time, with an accuracy score of 98 percent.
Help in answering insurance-related questions Deductibles and larger copays are a growing trend for many. We suggest you talk to your insurance company first; but if you still have questions, give our billing staff a call at 952-993-0770. Most times we can help sort out insurance information with you.
Payment options If your insurance doesn’t pay for a product you need, or you end up with a significant deductible, we can discuss options for paying your portion of the bill. Payment options include cash, checks or most major credit cards.

Our customer service center and billing operations are staffed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and can be reached by calling 952-993-0770.
