Reimbursement often is contingent on quality guidelines, orders must be constructed in a certain way and pricing is usually determined under a contractual agreement. Products typically not covered by health insurance often are classified as "not medically necessary," which does not mean they aren’t essential. Non-reimbursable products may relieve pain, provide comfort and support your care plan, but may not be directly tied to a treatment. Examples of products important to restful sleep, but not reimbursable by most insurance companies include:
