First appointment
Your first meeting with a Park Nicollet surgeon is called a consultation. At this time, the surgeon will discuss your condition and treatment options.
What to bring to your appointment
When you come for a consultation, bring:
-
your medical records and history if you are a non-Park Nicollet patient
-
list of medicines you currently take
-
copay
-
insurance card
-
photo ID, such as a drivers’ license
Your consultation will include an exam of the problem area, a brief health history and a review of X-rays. At this time, you will receive more detailed information on your condition and surgery. The surgeon and the nurse will go over the procedure process, as well as preparation and recovery instructions. If it is determined that you need any additional testing, that will be ordered and you may need to return for a follow-up visit before your surgery can be scheduled. Some minor procedures are performed at the time of the consultation.
