Breastfeeding support

Breastfeeding support
Park Nicollet Breastfeeding Center provides education, support and products to make your breastfeeding experience positive and rewarding. Experienced registered nurses, board certified as lactation consultants, coach you through each phase of breastfeeding to ensure your baby has a healthy start in life.

Certified lactation consultants are available to meet with new mothers at Methodist Hospital who experience breastfeeding difficulties during their hospital stay. Occasionally, breastfeeding difficulties also occur once you get home. Call 952-993-5124 to schedule an appointment with a lactation consultant to help identify the cause and determine the right solutions for you and your baby.

We rent and sell electric breast pumps, and provide complimentary, professional instruction. We also offer manual breast pumps, replacement parts and supplies, including nursing bras. Call 952-993-3121 for more information about breastfeeding products.

Maternal-Child Health Home Care
Park Nicollet offers an in-home visit after delivery. Our experienced nurses will check on you and your baby, and answer the questions that often arise in the first few days at home. We work with your doctor and clinic to provide education, compassion and support based on your needs. To learn more, call 952-993-6087.

Support for new moms
New moms can often experience stress, sadness or anxiety. Park Nicollet offers a twice-monthly support group for new moms to connect with others experiencing similar feelings. Groups are facilitated by two experienced female therapists, skilled in helping and supporting women struggling with emotional concerns after having a baby. Groups meet at the St. Louis Park Clinic, 3800 Building, 7th Floor Dwan A; 2nd and 4th Mondays every month from noon to 12:45. For more information, call 952-993-3307.
