My Areas of Practice
I feel priviledged to have the trust and confidence of my patients. I especially enjoy getting to know patients as individuals, their interests and endeavors. I try to adjust treatment plans in accordance to my patients' medical condition, but also in accordance with values and stage of life.
I have a diverse outpatient practice that focuses on both pulmonary and sleep conditions. I also practice in our intensive care unit at Methodist hospital and provode consultative work in the rest of the hospital. I have a special focus on interventional pulmonary procedures and I also particularly enjoy complex illnesses where I work with other physicians to achieve the best outcome for my patients. I perform standard and advanced bronchoscopic techniques and perform laser large airway treatments, endobronchial radiation procedures, CT guided needle biopsy and stereotactic radiation marker placement techniques. I have also enjoyed being involved in Park Nicollet management and governance work and serve as department chair for Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Disorders and on the Executive Medical Council. I have a professional interest in ethics and complex care near end of life and serve on the Ethics Committee. I teach in the University of Minnesota Medical School and provide post-graduate training for fellows in pulmonary and critical care at Methodist Hospital.
