My Areas of Practice

I am a physical therapist that specializes in helping patients heal wounds.  I am especially drawn to this field because of the impact that having a wound can have on a patient's life and the relationships that are formed while caring for these patients.  I hope that I am able to help people with wounds have less pain, think less about their wounds, and return to their optimal function.   I like helping people with all types of wounds, but am particularly drawn to care for those with diabetic foot ulcers and venous stasis ulcers.  We offer therapeutic debridement, skilled compression, education, modalities, VAC treatments, pneumatic compression, total contact casting, and specialized skill in dressing changes.  I also like to mentor/teach students and younger therapists.

Personal

I am a working mother of 2 young girls, so I try to balance these areas of my life, along with the help of my husband Jason.  I also enjoy traveling, especially to national parks.  I love the outdoors, especially activities such as biking, camping, walking, and volleyball.  I have been involved with planning and fundraising for colleagues to do medical mission trips (for wound care) the past several years and hope to go to Niger, Africa in 2013 with a group from the University of Minnesota.
