My Areas of Practice

I am honored to be a part of Park Nicollet's Child and Family Behavioral Health Team. I strongly believe in an integrative approach to treating mental health symptoms in order to address the needs of the whole child. In my practice this means collaborating with caregivers, clinicians of other disciplines, teachers, and other professionals who can offer additional support and insight to clients and their families.  I understand that seeking out help and letting someone into one's personal world can be hard; therefore, it is important to me that I provide an environment where clients feel safe to share all parts of their story, and where we can work together on the journey toward good health.

Specializing in working with children, adolescents and families experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties and past trauma, I meet individual needs by integrating art, play and talk therapy in an effort to help clients process and organize thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have training and experience using mindfulness and yoga techniques with children and enjoy integrating those into my practice when appropriate. In addition to working with children individually, I do family therapy to work on the interactions within the family system and provide time for parenting support to help parents learn more about their child's difficulties, what is developmentally typical, and how past experiences may be impacting current symptoms.

Personal

I am originally from west-central Minnesota and enjoy spending time on the lake whenever I can. In my free time, I also enjoy teaching and taking group fitness classes, hiking with friends, reading, gardening, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with my loved ones.
