Dr. Schaffer grew up in St Paul and Forest Lake, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and completed her residency through the University of Minnesota Ob/Gyn department. After completing her residency, she came to Park Nicollet in 1994. Dr. Schaffer has received the Top Doc award for many years as well the Alex Barno Award, the Leon Adcock Award, and the Raymond Albrecht Award in Residency. She was elected Chief of Staff at Methodist in 2010 and President of Clinical Faculty for the Department of Ob/Gyn at the University of Minnesota from 2008-2011. Dr. Schaffer has special interests in daVinci Robot-Assisted minimally invasive surgery, advanced laparoscopic and gynecologic surgery, in-office procedures, preventive care, and general obstetrics. She decided to specialize in Ob/Gyn because it held the perfect balance of office-based care, hospital care, and surgery. This balance has allowed for the greatest continuity of care. “One of my favorite aspects of my practice is knowing my patients over the years and helping them along the way with any problems they may have, watching them start a family, and assisting them as they navigate through life’s phases.” As a consultant at Park Nicollet, Dr. Schaffer has navigated the system for her patients for many years.
