My Areas of Practice

I am passionate about effective listening and communication and believe it's important to meet my patients where they are to partner with them in a plan for getting the most out of life.  I enjoy getting to know my patients and believe it is incredibly important to shape the care plan to their unique situation.

In my practice I treat the full range of pulmonary conditions and complaints, and also have a research background in pulmonary nodule evaluation and management.  When not in pulmonary clinic, I provide inpatient pulmonary consultation at Methodist Hospital, and I also provide Critical Care/Intensivist services in the Methodist Hospital Intensive Care Unit.  I provide a wide range of pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound and electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy.  I have a special interest in providing pulmonary access to rural areas, and in the use of health technology to improve access and care.

Research & Publications

I have an interest in the use of health technology for the proper tracking, management and workup of incidental pulmonary nodules.

Growing up in western Minnesota, I came to love the outdoors, hiking, fishing and all Minnesota has to offer.  After high school I joined the U.S. Army in 2000, returning to Minnesota to complete my education after fulfilling my enlistment obligations.  I strongly believe in making the most of every day, so you will often find me outdoors in some capacity, enjoying each of our state's great seasons.
