Personal

Dr. Thomas is from Barnesville, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her residency at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital through Michigan State University. Dr. Thomas originally went to school to major in English and planned to teach English. After a Biology class, her eyes were opened to other opportunities and she has enjoyed being able to incorporate teaching into her practice. Dr. Thomas has received numerous teaching awards as a resident and through Hennepin County Medical Center. Some of these awards include APGO award from her students, CREOG Leadership Award, and the Resident Teaching Award. Before coming to Park Nicollet, Dr. Thomas practiced for over six years at Hennepin County Medical Center. She is now the Ob/Gyn Residency Site Director for Methodist Hospital. Dr. Thomas chose Park Nicollet for the mix of having her own patients and having the opportunity to teach the next generation of doctors. “I enjoy Obstetrics and Gynecology because it gives me the opportunity to be involved in many important times in a woman’s life.” When not at Park Nicollet, Dr. Thomas volunteers at her church and enjoys cooking, knitting, reading, and jogging. She also enjoys the many adventures with her spouse and two wonderful daughters.
