My Areas of Practice
In addition to being a general surgeon, I have advanced training in the medical and surgical management of colon and rectal problems. I enjoy helping patients understand their condition, while we decide together if surgery is the best option. My specific areas of interest include anorectal disorders (hemorrhoids, fissures, rectal abscesses and fistulas), pelvic floor problems (rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence, and constipation), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s diseease and ulcerative colitis), and colon and rectal cancer. I also perform colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care of these conditions. When possible, I use minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopic surgery, to maximize patient comfort and speed recovery. When I’m not at the hospital or clinic, I enjoy traveling with my wife, running, and skiing.
