Patient Stories: Cathy

I was referred to Park Nicollet Dermatology for a skin lesion between my eyebrows and the top of my nose. I was diagnosed with three types of skin cancer on my face at the same time – melanoma, squamous and basal cancer. What followed was a series of surgeries, including MOHs, and multiple surgeries at Methodist Hospital. I had 40 percent of my nose reconstructed with a flap from my forehead. Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with three more melanomas.

At every phase of my care, I experienced professional, compassionate and caring interactions. I moved through the entire process in a timely manner and was treated as a whole patient, not just a diagnosis. My needs were always sensitively addressed, from the frontline staff to the nurses and doctors who discussed possible outcomes. Even the valet parking staff called me by name and provided a wheelchair when needed.

Dr. Epstein in Dermatology has been the coordinator of most of my care and is a compassionate and considerate physician. When it was another melanoma, he always called to break the news to me personally. He is always so positive and supportive.
I would highly recommend Park Nicollet to anyone. The systems are seamless, wait time is minimal, protocols are excellent, quality is superb and the care is outstanding!
